How to Change Text and Background Colors

I'm working on providing an option to toggle the web page colors to black text on white background. In the meantime, most browsers let you turn off colors or style sheets and use your browser's default colors. For example:

To turn off style sheets in Opera:

  1. Click the page icon in the button bar

To turn off colors in IE 5.5 for Windows:

  1. In the menu bar, select Tools > Internet Options...
  2. In the dialog box, click the Accessibility... button at bottom right
  3. In the Accessibility dialog box, check the checkbox in front of Ignore colors specified on Web pages

To turn off style sheets in Netscape Communicator 4.75 for Windows:

  1. In the menu bar, select Edit > Preferences...
  2. In the left column of the dialog box, click on Advanced to highlight it
  3. In the right section, deselect the checkbox in front of Enable style sheets
